Uttarakhand to have 4 More Districts
On 15th August (Independence day) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced the creation of four more districts which are Kotdwar, Yamunotri, Didihat and Ranikhet for the smooth working for Administration. Earlier there were 13 districts in Uttarakhand (UK) and now the number has increased to 17. At present Kotdwar under Pauri district and Yamunotri is in Uttarkashi, Didihat would be created from Pithoragarh and Ranikhet from Almora district.
CM also announces the increase in the pension of freedom fighter which will be now Rs.11,100. Uttarakhand has become first state to give such a amount as a pension to freedom fighters.
